the fun of learning to play African-inspired rhythms. Together
we will create a harmonious
voice playing on djembe, ashiko, dunun, Xylimba, kalimba,
bells, and more -- or bring
your own. Dancing is encouraged.

Introduction to Digital Filmmaking

Hands-on workshop to learn
and practice the basics of shooting a short video from concept through
capture. We will view and critique your unedited work in a friendly,
supportive environment with professional tips for editing and post production.

the basics of non-linear video editing. Useful audio and video tips

Beginning Hand Drumming
(call for schedule)
Learn the art of African-inspired,
California-grown jamming in the style of Robert Bornn and his ensemble,
DIAJ
(Drummers in a Jam). Robert also recently released his original
single, Djembe Djam
(free, 2-minute, 1.5 MB, mp3 download), inspired by West African and Congolese
rhythms.
